Gift of Hearing Winner - Peggy Hopkins

We are delighted to announce that Peggy Hopkins, an 87-year-old from Gorey, is the latest recipient of our 'Gift of Hearing' initiative.

Peggy first noticed hearing loss five years ago, which gradually increased over time. At home, she had to turn the TV volume up to hear, and socially, she often missed out on conversations and struggled to hear clearly during mass. This left her feeling "on the outside of what was going on."

Upon receiving her new hearing aids, Peggy expressed her excitement: "I can’t wait to be involved in what’s going on around me again. It will be wonderful not having to second guess what I heard, or try to piece bits and pieces together."

Her son, Ronan, added: "It will be great for Peggy to not have to rely on others to relay the conversation to her... She can take part with confidence and independence again."

Peggy will be the guest of honour at our upcoming Open Day on Friday, April 11th, from 10am to 1pm, at 103 Main Street, Gorey. We invite you to join us in celebrating Peggy's journey and to learn more about hearing health.

Well done again to Peggy – a most deserving Gift of Hearing recipient.
